Digital Marketing Swansea

With the digital centre, (I think Digital Centre is the proper name) on the horizon for Swansea, marketers are excited. The marketing ecosystem is Swansea is ripe. People are meeting more frequently, growing communities and sharing ideas. There are several meet-ups happening in the city every month. We are present at these events. I will share some photos that were taken while in attendance.

The best part of all of this is that, as much as I know, there is still so much to learn. Attending these events means that my knowledge is increased, new ideas are presented to me. Speakers are often from fields that I have no experience in. They bring a perspective that I would have otherwise not have come into contact with.

Swansea SEO Meet up is one of my favourite ones. I have yet to miss an event. Andy is a great host, and has grown the community organically. You are met by familiar faces, people who have attended the events and would like to continue to do so. Every week there are also a few new faces, people who come in to support a presenter, or have recently come into contact with details about the event.

As I write this, we are one day away from having our very first meet up tailored to affiliate marketing. The format will be a “workshop” type. We would all come along with our laptops and start from scratch. This will make it open to those with absolutely no knowledge of the topic, and those who know everything there is to know about it.

Although it is not yet set in stone, the aim is to create a site as we go through the process, one that would act as an example of sorts. This is the one that people can refer to and watch. Perhaps the most important part of it all is that, this is the one that would show possibilities.

If you caught my talk at the Swansea SEO Meet up, you will be aware that, I absolutely love doing the research that goes into building these websites. Gathering the data, and analysing it takes away most of the guesswork. Granted, you will find some people who have successfully built profitable sites without this data. However the niches that they succeed in are usually not very competitive, they are usually more seasoned in SEO or just lucky.

The flip side of it is that it is not something that can be replicated. For instance, if you were to take 100 people and build affiliate sites blindly, without the data. There will be some success. However, I will wager on the fact that there will be more success in the second group of 100 that works in a data-driven manner. 

When you are data driven in building your site, you know you are building a site that has a high demand. You know that you are creating a site based on relevant search terms. All of the content that you create is planned out, based on a ready audience. You are not just throwing mud at a wall and hoping something sticks. Some will stick, but if you plan it all out, more will stick.

Collaboration in Digital Marketing Swansea

One of the best outcomes of meet ups is collaboration. Everyone you meet has a set of ideas and skills that you don’t necessarily have. These are skills and ideas that your customers may be seeking. Collaboration means that we get to bring more business to Swansea. Instead of turning clients away, based on a lack of service or skill, we can collaborate with other digital marketers in Swansea to provide these services.

We have started to see more and more of this happen. I anticipate that as our meetups grow in numbers, they will draw a wider audience, and bring in new skill sets. There is no shame in humble beginnings. Do not despise starting small. At times these are the fondest of memories you will have, even when numbers and finances have grown.

Personal growth is pushed on you when the numbers are small. There is no one to hide behind. I have met people who are much better at CRO than I am. Even more recently, I have had the pleasure of learning from more sales driven persons. This is knowledge I would have either never sought, or just not had the time to accumulate. Being part of these meetups afforded me this opportunity.
